About Our Story

Magic squares are one of the most fascinating subjects in mathematics. They have a hoary past and have captivated human minds for thousands of years.

People from all walks of life have indulged in the study of these squares.

While several cultures have attributed magical properties to them, we at Indira Publishers see them as just another branch of mathematics.

In the Indian tradition, you can see magic squares named after the god Ram and his divine consort Sita.

My mother is late. Indira Narasinga Rao wondered why these squares were named after gods and discovered that they were magic squares.

In the Hindu tradition, these magic squares are used for the purposes of astrology and making predictions.

Sita Chakra is a 3×3 magic square.

8 1 6 15
3 5 7 15
4 9 2 15
15 15 15 15 15

Sita Chakra is a 3×3 magic square. It uses numbers from 1 to 9. You can see that all the rows, columns, and two diagonals add up to the magic sum of 15.

Sri Rama Chakra is a 4×4 magic square.

9 16 5 4 34
7 2 11 14 34
12 13 8 1 34
6 3 10 15 34
34 34 34 34 34 34

Sri Rama Chakra is a 4×4 magic square, and it uses numbers from 1 to 16. You can observe that each row, column, and two diagonals add up to 34, and each number appears only once.

15 is the magic sum of a 3×3 magic square, and 34 is the magic sum of a 4×4 magic square.

We at Indira Publishers have developed a new type of magic square that possesses a variety of magical properties related to numbers.

We construct 8×8 magic squares, each containing four 4×4 sub-squares, which yield a magic sum of 260 and 130, respectively.

T.N. Mahesh has discovered a new kind of puzzle based on magic squares, and he calls them MAGIC SQUARE PUZZLES.

Sri Rama Chakra is a 4×4 magic square.

These magic square puzzles involve both arithmetic and logic.

The students who solve these magic square puzzles overcome their fear of math and start doing mental calculations involving additions and subtractions.

These puzzles also have an element of elementary algebra, which is a very interesting and useful way of inculcating interest in mathematics.

Several newspapers like THE HINDU and DECCAN CHRONICLE have come out with an article about this discovery.

YouTube has uploaded several videos that explain how to solve these magic square puzzles.

However, we at Indira Publishers are keen to spread these puzzles far and wide. We would be happy to conduct sessions on teaching about the magic squares and also assist you in solving the puzzles.

So, you can register with us to learn about the magic squares and how to solve them, and you can also buy the books from our website.

WISHING YOU AN ENDEARING, ENCHANTING, AND INTERESTING VOYAGE IN THE REALM OF MAGIC SQUARES.
